To use the following cheats you need to modify the 'Target' line in the game's shortcut to..

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2\NFSHP2.EXE" +[parameter]

.. replace [parameter] with any of the following:

ghost - Your car is invisible to other cars (including cops).
opentree - Allows you to enter locked events.
nofrustration - Disables confirmations.
nomovie - Disables intro movies.
nomusic - Turns music off.
nosnd - Turns off sound FX.
noreverb - Turns off reverberation.
nofrontend - Menu is turned off - like a demo mode.
nomipmap - Disables mipmapping.
noparticles - Turns off particle animations.
minfront - Enables a strange main menu.
helicoptersonly - Cops will only use helicopter backup against you.
screenshots - Enable screenshots. Use Alt+P in game.
